Nation: United States
Year: 1942-43
Manufacturer: Figurehead CBM13 Liberty Ship CU71 John C Butler CU70 Evarts
All three types were mass produced to fight the battle of Atlantic and provide escorts in the Pacific.
Liberty Ships were produced in unheard of numbers and carried cargoes all over the world. The last is moored in San Francisco if I am not mistaken.

Two Lion class BB/CV 1944Type: BB-CV Battleship Carrier
Year: 1944 projected
Nation: Great Britain
Manufacturer: Superior B114
Two of this class are shown steaming close abeam, both carrying Fairy Fireflys (about 10-11 each). Armed with 6-16inch guns and 16-5.25inch secondaries, they could hold their own against most surface opponents and supply air cover to any force they were attached.
The Admiralty had rather strong, heated discussions about trying to have the best of both worlds, a battleship and an armored fleet carrier in one ship when two separate would be more expensive but much more effective. As things developed, Britain built seven heavily armored fleet carriers and the Lion class battleships were cancelled due to higher priority needs.Jun 28, 2009
